This is the website for the Charleston Community Band. The Charleston Community Band, a non-profit organization, is an all-volunteer adult band that provides FREE concerts to the public. Serving the Greater Charleston area since 1978, the Charleston Community Band performs in Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, and Daniel Island. The 100-strong band is composed of members of the community from all walks of life who live in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties. As a concert ensemble, the band repertoire includes standards that have “stood the test of time” such as symphonies, folk songs, patriotic music, and new compositions as well as concert marches by John Philip Sousa, Henry Fillmore, and Karl L. King. The Charleston Community Band, along with the Columbia Community Band, has become the annual tradition at the Piccolo Spoleto Memorial Day Concert in Marion Square.
